In contrast with problem sets and exams, a potential method for assessment in the future could be asking students to demonstrate what they have learned by creating content for an online learning platform. This content could then be assessed by seeing how valuable it is to other students interested in learning about the same topics. As a way to move towards this possibility, I propose that MIT consider developing a system where students could get some form of credit--academic or not--for creating content that other students could use to learn.
