Have professors, not graduate students, teach undergraduate recitations that accompany lecture courses. Add the track, exceptional achievement as a teacher, as a rare alternative path for tenure for a young professor who has sacrificed time in the research lab to inspire and mentor undergraduates students.

Encourage (do not require) senior engineering students and graduate students to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam which is the first step in obtaining a license as a Professional Engineer.
